I thank you–and your family–for writing so beautifully about the everyday things and events of life in a way that lifts our spirits and helps us to smile at one another and at life.

While I was puttering in the kitchen early Thursday morning, I heard my husband laugh out loud from an adjoining room. He continued to laugh and came into the kitchen to read aloud your column. As empty-nest parents of (only) two sons, you have reminded us of those years when our house was full of noise, shenanigans, gross things, and much laughter. We miss those times. I have long been a fan of the Front Porch, and now my husband is too. Thanks for making us both LOL yesterday morning.

I enjoy your heart-felt, honest style of a mom, wife and human being embracing the ever-changing aspects of life.

Look forward to your column every Thursday. Your writing exudes the warmth and humor that you have with your family and life in general. In my opinion you are on a par with the great Dave Berry and from me, that is high praise indeed. Keep up the great work.

Just had to write and let you know how much I enjoyed reading your latest column. I’ve been your fan forever, and now that my wife and I no longer spend winters in AZ, I won’t miss any more of them.

I love your column and always look forward to reading it! Whether it be comments about motherhood, “daughterhood” (some time ago, your article about a parent brought me to tears. Come to think of it, it wasn’t the only one!), or life experience in general, I know I am going to be richly rewarded for reading your column.

I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy reading your columns in the Spokesman-Review. I was nodding in agreement as I read your column a couple of weeks ago about kids being expected to do chores at home. Right on! It’s nice to know that other parents still have the same expectations I do. Then when I read your column yesterday about your sons, my eyes welled with tears. I can relate since my “baby boy” is now 16 and is happily towering over me. You captured my sentiments exactly! So thank you for your excellent work! I’ll look forward to reading your columns in the future.

We never miss reading your articles and have enjoyed them very much. You are an excellent, clever writer whose scope of topics seems limitless. We thank you.
